Korean Actress Jung Da Bin Found Dead in a Suspected Suicide

I was so shocked when I read this piece of news, I have not recoverd from the xu wei lun's death, then Anna Nicole Smith death, and the u-nee suicide now da bin's... rest in peace. Lee Eun Joo also died february last year.  Kim Rae Won will immediately fly back to korea for her.

SEOUL, Feb. 10 (Yonhap) -- South Korean actress Jeong Da-bin was found dead on Saturday, local police said.

They said Jeong, 27, hanged herself at her boyfriend's house in the morning. The boyfriend, who was only identified by his last name Lee, discovered the body and reported the incident to the police.

The police suspect that she committed suicide considering there was no sign that it was a murder, and are trying to determine the exact circumstances of her death.

Jeong, who also became a South Korean pop culture star in Taiwan in 2005, acted in television dramas and movies.

If her death is confirmed to have been a suicide, it would be the latest case of a well-known South Korean actress or pop star taking her own life. A female singer Yuni committed suicide on Jan. 21, while movie actress Lee Eun-joo killed herself in February 2005, which shocked many South Koreans.

So life has to go on, when I listen to Top rapping in “VIP”, he reminds me a lot of Teddy Park of 1Tym! They have the same voice! And Daesung too when he sung his solo in the track “I’m Laughing” I swear he is Fly to the Sky’s Fany’s lost twin! They have the same husky, low voice! And I absolutely love the rap part of GD and Top in “My Girl!!”

What I Think:

So currently this is just one of the first few j-series that I have watched… I have seen Beautiful Life, and am still watching Masked Rider 555 and Gokusen. To sum all my thoughts up for this series, I think that Takuya Kimura is great actor, that Koyuki is very beautiful but the producers did not capitalize on her physical attributes as she looks so plain in here, that the 12 children are very very cute, adorable and intelligent, that the song “I Can See Clearly Now” fits well in the movie.

Now got to chop these tings up, first up Takuya, I am warming up to him a bit, I m beginning to like him for all and everything that he is. In the 2 series that I have seen him, he always seems to give off this certain rugged, laid-back, caring-but-I-don’t-want-the-world-to-know-that-I-am vibe. He looks absolutely good when he wears these stripped polo shirts! I like the way Jiro interacts with the kids, he is different when he is with them, and he solves these problems without trying too hard. He is a kid trapped in a man’s body, which is why he clicked with the kids.

Koyuki, I have such high hopes for this actress because I like her a lot ever since I saw her in “Last Samurai” with Tom Cruise, she has risen to the level of Gong Li and Zhang Ziyi in my list. She is very beautiful but I was let down that they did not capitalize on these, her wardrobe was so dull, except or her get-up in the last episode. I do not like the fact that she seems to like fumble, stumble, be geeky and be all over the place! A little push from the kids, she seems to really, REALLY stumble and stuff. Aish!! I found that clumsiness a bit annoying down the middle already.

The kids were just adorable!!  Some kids’ acting were even good. My fave were Shunta, and the youngest kid. They were different; Shunta connects with Jiro in a different level. The kids are lookers too. Right from episode 2, I have figured that well we got 12 ep so I guess these would be about the 12 children huh? Pretty much.

Other stuff like chemistry between the 2 leads was not too strong I have to say, or they did not have many scenes together where they could work things up. It was only in the last episode where Jiro actually made a move on Tomomi. There is not much lovin here. They could have worked on the story between Jiro and Tomomi, Jiro and his ex-girl, or Tomomi and the male teacher. Was it just me or that male teacher really liked her a lot?

The title “Engine” is very misleading as the movie does not focus on F3 racing but on how Jiro deals with the children at the orphanage/hospice.

Rating: 9 Japanese Tempura out of 10

Yoon Eun Hye and Jay Chou stars in the the Taiwanese drama adaptation of "Slam Dunk"

Singer-turned-actress Yoon Eun-hye has been offered to play a leading role in the sports film Dunkâ to be produced in Taiwan.

Based on the Japanese manga Slam Dunk, the film will be produced with a budget of some 10 million US dollars, and Taiwan's leading star Jay Chou has already been cast as the male lead.

The offer seems to have been extended to Yoon because of the popularity she enjoyed in Chinese-speaking nations as a member of the five-woman group Baby V.O.X and through Princess Hours,the MBC hit drama where she played a leading role.

In July, an AP report had said that pan-Asian star BoA would act in SlamDunk, but her agency denied the report, saying, No offers have been made to us, so we do not know anything about it. If we receive an official offer, we will consider it.
