Big Bang

Big Bang

I have been lying low with k-hip hop songs ever since I have to improve my Chinese, but talk about waking me up from my doldrums mode! Now with YG Family’s newest group, I am wrecking my way thru the k-hip hop scene! Big Bang is rocking my world!

I love their La La La MV, I found out that my fave guys were Taeyoung and G-Dragon! (I am still trying to figure them out…) At first I was really sure I like just Taeyoung but after finishing up the video, I figured I also kinda liked the “boy who always wears his hat sideways” he is hot! I like the way G-Dragon side grins!! God, his side grin did it for me! I like Taeyoung’s braids/cornrow hair and his really perfect skin in the “My Girl” MV was nice. Daesung has a nice smile too; I like the way his eyes fades when he starts to smile; hahaha, he looks cuter when he smiles. Da hen ke ai! Big Bang is beyond cool!! At least my shobe is so sure that she likes Top.

G-Dragon was smashing in his “This Love” MV! I cannot believe he was the very same adorable little boy in the YG Family “Fine Gentlemen” MV! Oh and I cannot see Taeyoung in that mv. He looks so hot with just his jeans and his jacket and his bonnet there. Aish!!! And he looks so darn good in his rap parts in the My Girl MV! You should listen to his speaking lines at the end of the song, those were his words for his ex-gf, Hey J, he is still so not over her! God he can be my namju chingu!! Haha!

I cannot believe that it was Taeyoung’s first kiss in the “My Girl” MV! Come on! He looks like a freakin player and has kissed a hundred girls! I already saw the picture of Seungli’s gf; they look cute together though; whatever rocks their boat really. But I swear I will really loose my wits when I hear that Taeyoung or G-Dragon has a gf hidden somewhere!! So I am like this I watch “This Love” and I go crazy over G-Dragon and then I watch “My Girl” and I go nuts over Taeyoung!! God!  Now I’m crazy without you for me!! Hah!

Shoot I did not even know that Seungli joined and was cut in battle Shinhwa Show!! Darn I watched that show so fervently!

My Big Bang Ranking:

1. G-Dragon / Taeyoung

2. Top

3. Daesung/Seungli

Big Bang (빅뱅) is a Korean hip-hop group comprised of five members. They are the new face of YG (Yang Goon) Entertainment and the group was created through a long audition process filmed as a 10 episode documentary where one member was dropped, and the official group debuted at the YG Family 10th Anniversary Concert on August 19th, 2006.

The five members of the group are G-Dragon (Kwon Ji Yong; leader, rapper, vocal), T.O.P./Tempo (Choi Seung Hyun; rapper, vocal), TaeYang (Dong Young Bae; rapper, vocal), DaeSung (Kang Dae Sung; vocal), & SeungRi (Lee Seung Hyun; vocal).
Even though the members are all very young (born in 1987, 88, 89, and 90), they are a multi-talented group that is trained to be proficient in all aspects of music (i.e. singing, rapping, dancing, composing, and writing lyrics). The leader G-Dragon has trained with YG for 6 years, being an accomplished artist even before debut, along with fellow trainee TaeYang who also trained for 6 years. T.O.P. was known in the underground hip-hop world for his beat-boxing and rapping skills, and is the oldest of the group with a goofy personality that brings laughter to the group and to fans. DaeSung is the ever-smiling vocalist of the group who still attends school regularly while being in Big Bang and is praised by other YG artists for his singing. Seungri, the youngest member, was also the last member to be added to the group, but holds much promise with his impressive dancing skills.

Big Bang has released three singles (Big Bang, Big Bang is V.I.P., and B I G B A N G 03) and is expected to have an album out in December as well as hold their first concert, 'The Real'.

Synopsis:

This is a story of two wounded hearts that fall in love with each other, heal each other and later forgive each other. Underlying their love are the shared memories of their childhood when they first met. Their dramatic love begins unfolding when the two – stouthearted rolled-rice seller Eun-young and famous pianist Jae-ha – accidentally run into each other on a train in Austria after Eun-young wins a grand prize and a trip to the country at an industrial art exhibition.

But Jae-ha has no idea that the unabashed girl from South Korea whom he meets on the train is the love of his childhood, the beautiful Eun-young from a remote island who brought a warm spring into his frozen heart. Their destined love undergoes a test when Philip, Jae-ha's manager, and Yi-na, who claims Jae-ha to be her childhood sweetheart, come into their lives. Adding to the spellbinding and heart-moving love story of Eun-young and Jae-ha is the scenic backdrop of Austria, the homeland of waltz, and the picturesque landscape of Namdo Island on Korea's southern coast.

The story begins with Eun-young's plane ride to Austria, where she happens to sit next to Song Inna, who is on her way to meet her childhood love, Jaeha. However, Jaeha (a.k.a: Chris Y), who has now grown up to be a young, accomplished pianist in Austria, seems not pleased with meeting Inna again after 15 years for some reason. Eun-young, on the other hand, excited about her first overseas trip, bumps into Phillip (Jaeha's manager and best friend), who has mistaken her as Inna whom he was suppose to pick up at the airport. The four meets, each in different turns of circumstances and incidents, and their story of love, fate and destiny begins.

On her train ride to a classical concert - a gift from Phillip – Eun-young meets Jaeha, who is also on his way to his concert. Despite him displaying his reluctance and indifference to be friendly to Eun-young, the two are immediately attracted to each other – especially for Jaeha, because of the way she reminds him of his long-lost childhood love (and that is not Song Lee-Na for him). After the concert, Jaeha meets Eun-young again, but soon finds out that she is in fact Phillip's love interest. Even with Inna by his side, and the sense of disappointment that his best friend is interested in Eun-young, Jaeha can't stop thinking about her. Eun-young, realizing that Jaeha is a renowned pianist and Inna's first love, also finds herself drawn to Jaeha time to time.

What I Think:

Young Eunyoung has really nice button eyes.  Han Hyo-ju meanwhile looks very pretty, her lips are so red, and she looks pretty even when her hair is all over the place. I think she does not have one scene where her hair was pulled up in a bun. She has great chemistry with Daniel Henney and So Do Young. Her clothes look good on her too, even if it looks weird and too bohemian and tattered look to it.

Now Jae-ha, there was one scene where Jae-ha confessed to the priest that he loves Eunyoung too, god he cannot cry a tear in that scene! SDY has a variety of clothes and they are colorful, black and drabby clothes are not part of this series. He has this air of Song Seung Hun about him; the director likes these looks in his lead actors I reckon. At first I really did not like him much, but I figured nah he looks cute too.

I love the way Philip pursues Eunyoung. He is always there when she needs him. Who cannot love Daniel Henney! Duh! I am so amazed at how wonderful he looks in all his clothes, he has a very colorful wardrobe and he has one nice body to go with it. Awesome English lines, most of my fave lines in this series were from Philip! Daniel is so handsome.

For a change, at least this installment of Endless Love has a nice ending. Of the 4 Endless Love series, I think this one has the better story line. I'm not sure about the acting though, I still think the better actors are from "Autumn in my Heart." And I still love Won Bin! Yup I have to write Won Bin in there. Haha! As usual, it has very scenic backgrounds and the main theme song "One Love" by Loveholic is very very nice.

Some nice scenes:

@ Eunyoung and Philip riding a bus where she held his arm, he touched her hand. That was sweet.

@ Eunyoung and Philip looking at crystal pieces

@ Philip bandaging Eunyoung's broken ankle

@ Jae-ha realizing that Eunyoung was his long lost childhood friend

@ Eunyoung making Philip a finger puppet, he uses this doll to make Eunyoung smile

@ Philip already waiting for Eunyoung when she went home to visit her mom's grave

@ Philip and Eunyoung spending the night in the island when they were left behind by the ferry

@ Philip asking Eunyoung to be his girl, she did not let him kiss her, aish!

@ Eunyoung driving Jae-ha in a scooter! Hilarious and romantic

@ Jae-ha sitting in the backseat of the car just to be near her

@ Philip and Jae-ha's piano duet

@ Philip sheltering Eunyoung from the broken window glass very knight-in-shining-armor-ish!

@ Philip saying "I prayed for her (Eunyoung). I would do anything for her." to Jae-ha, telling him not to take her away from him

@ Philip seeing Jae-ha kiss Eunyoung

@ Philip telling Jae-ha "You have everything, a father, a mother, the piano and now…the one thing that I really want, you can't give me."

@ Jae-ha teaching Eunyoung to play the piano chords

@ Jae-ha not wanting to let go of Eunyoung's hand so he held her hand all day

@ All of Choi Si Won's scenes…Suju fans gotta watch him here!

@ Jae-ha in bed waking up and hugging Eunyoung

@ Philip to Eunyoung "You gave me the best trip of my life."

What I Think:

Lee Yo Won – This was the first series that I ever saw her act and I think that her pictures, descriptions and teasers does not give justice to how beautiful she really looks. She is a good actress, she can hold her own along side Kim Min Jung, she has great chemistry with both Joon Jin Moo and Chung Jung Myung especially Chung Jung Myung. I like it better when she pulls her hair up in a bun; she looks prettier and younger that way.

Kim Min Jung – of the 2 girls, I think she was the better actress. I abhor her, it just kills me that she was so selfish, she has the better life and the love Duh-mi’s real father, she has Bin’s friendship, she has Dong-young’s care and yet she still wants more. She was so clingy to Dong-young, grrr. Kim Min Jung was that good, because I absolutely hated her character but the way her character got ditched was just too much though.

Joo Jin Mo – Now where does South Korean show business get these absolutely gorgeous leading men?! He is one heck of a good-looking man! There was one scene in Mokpo islands where he arrived in a helicopter and he got out wearing razor shades, trench coat and just looking oh-so-handsome, then Duh-mi encircling him telling him he is so handsome! I swear he rocked in that scene! But he never got to kiss Lee Yo Won…hmmm.

Chung Jung Myung – he amazes me, he impresses, he moves, he is beyond cool. He was my runaway favorite. He is the latest addition to my top 10 Fave Korean actors! Haha! He looks so handsome, he has a really nice bod, he looks good in his clothes and man he just makes me melt when he starts to smile! That megawatt smile just turns me into mush and makes me weak! Out of the 4 actors, I think he was the best in terms of acting, this was the first time I saw him act and I thought he was impressive; it is a no brainer that he will be part of the Korean wave bandwagon in a few years. He has great chemistry with Duh-mi too! I swear many times have I thought that she should end up with Bin coz he was so good to her and she for him! She changed him! They were sizzling with chemistry! Oh and he looks a lot like Eric Moon too with short hair. J

Scenes to watch out for:

@ Young Kang-hee and her mom stealing food from the military camp

@ The way mom made young Joon-hee swallow the pearl; I hated the mom for making her do those, that scene was difficult.

@ Young Joon-hee’s parents dying when their truck fell off the cliff

@ Ha Ji Won’s cameo role: you got to find her out

@ The 2 young girls stealing food from the camp and when they were caught, they just said, “I love you…” they made me cry

@ Jo Jin Mo, with his cool shades, getting out of the helicopter and then Duh-mi encircling him telling him he is handsome! I love that scene!!

@ Duh-mi and Dong-young discovering the island together, they look good together

@ Bin taking of his rubber swim gear wearing nothing, you can see his absolutely nice bod!! God! I love Chung Jung Myung!

@ Duh-mi saying “Can I meet someone who is worth giving up my life for?

@ When Joon-hee took back the pearl she pawned and gave it back to Dong-young

@ The way Bin calls Duh-mi “Runaway girl” and she calling him “Smuggler” I swear they got great chemistry together!

@ Bin asking Duh-mi “Just hug me once?” for his birthday and he cried, her gift for him is so funny

@ Bin saying, “I am afraid I would just go on and hug you.”

@ Duh-mi “When did you start to like me?”

Dong-young “When you told me I am handsome, I am weak to compliments”

@ Dong-young forgetting everything and just followed Duh-mi, they talked in a room, she saw he’s still wearing her bullet necklace around his neck and she just hugged him tight

@ The Hong Kong action scenes and Bin not being able to move his arm

@ Mr Han dying

@ The first time Duh-mi calling Dong-young “Oppa”

@ Bin proposing to Duh-mi (“Broken Vow” was actually played in her fashion show)

@ The ending

What I Think:

This movie has so much press release about it but it was last on my must watch list and I don’t know why. This movie is also SHK’s first outing in the movies. I have absolutely no idea about its storyline when I watched this.

I am quite disappointed with this movie, it lacks something I guess, or maybe I am just sick of seeing the lead girl die of some untreatable disease, god SHK looks so sickly here you’ll see. Cha Tae Hyun’s acting here was quite good though but he was not as awesome as his former movies like “My Sassy Girl” he impresses there.

The backgrounds here are scenic and beautiful though, it made up for the loose storyline. Oh and I have an oppa alert here, he plays Kim Hye Seong, one of Su ho’s best friends here, check him out.

Yeonriji: Now and Forever: K-movie

Yeonriji: Now and Forever

Cast:

Choi Ji Woo – as Han Hye-won

Jo Han So – as Min-su

Summary:

Lee Min-su (Jo Han Sun) awakens early in the morning and, leaving the bed that he shares with a young woman, dresses for work. On the way he takes a call from a young woman who's falling in love with him but who he dials off from with a story about leaving the country and being en route to the airport. The girl that he leaves behind in the bed asks why he lied to her. "I didn't", he says, clearly doing so again. As he leaves for the office, a third lie escapes his lips, one in which he asks the woman with whom he's spent the night not to change her phone number so to call her the minute that he returns. Opening the door to go no further than to work, he says goodbye but, this time, he would appear to mean it.

On his way into the city where the games company that he owns with Kyung-min (Seong-guk Choi) has its office, he flirts with the driver of a sports car in the next lane but crashes into the back of the vehicle in front when the lights unexpectedly change. With Kyung-min worrying about the effect that whiplash might have on the value of the company, in spite of it crossing the all-important threshold of ten thousand simultaneous users of their online software, he persuades and drives Min-su to the hospital, unaware that his partner will treat it with none of the seriousness that it deserves. For Min-su, life is no more than a string of opportunities to meet women and to make money. And so it proves once again, with Min-su asking Kyung-min to stop to offer a lift to Han Hye-won (Choi Ji Woo) a lift to the hospital, where, through a coincidence it would appear, they both have appointments.

Parting at the door, Min-su finds that Hye-won has left her mobile phone in the car and through his charm, cockiness and not inconsiderable wealth, as well as her mobile handset, he goes about wooing her. But she's not awfully impressed, telling him that they will not be anything other than friends until he apologises to and earns the forgiveness of every woman that he's ever treated poorly. But in doing so, she keeps a secret from Min-su, one that he may not be able to forgive her for. At least not until they find a love that, at first, escapes them.

A lightly comic romance is, one imagines, a difficult type of film to successfully pull off. Make it too funny early in the film and the audience might refuse to come with the makers as they attempt to add moments of pathos. Make the scenes of heartbreak too plentiful and audiences might wonder if the comedy is entirely suitable. It may well be difficult to truly terrify an audience - note the number of horror films that fail miserably at doing just that - but one can argue that to strike the fine balance between comedy and tragedy is equally demanding, even of the finest filmmakers. As such, there's something of a celebration even if a film only gets some way there, as Richard Curtis did with the sometimes-mawkish Love, Actually but it's something that director Seong-jung Kim has accomplished with ease with Now And Forever.

Without giving much away, the fine comedy of the first third of the film gives away to utter sadness as Now And Forever plays out. Much happens in it that I won't describe here, nor have I described above, as Seong-jung Kim holds something back, only to reveal them during the playing of the film. One, which comes late in Now And Forever, comes out of the blue and is genuinely shocking, leaving the audience questioning whatever conclusions they had previously drawn. Others are more obvious. We know, for example, that from her being a patient at the hospital, Hye-won is not well but the freedom that she enjoys suggests that she is on the mend. Or is she? When she and Min-su enjoy a meal at a restaurant to celebrate her birthday, is she really one year older or does the twinkle in her eyes suggest that this, like so much else, is simply her way of having fun. And how much of what she draws Min-su into is just that, the enjoying of an uncomplicated relationship so long as it lasts.

What I Think:

This was the first movie that I ever saw Jo Han So act and I thought he was really good. This is also my fave Choi Ji Woo movie to date. She looks so pretty here, she looks young wearing jeans, and letting her beautiful hair fall down. This movie will take you on a whirlwind of emotions. The first parts will make you cry in laughter and the latter parts will make you shed a tear or two; but this has got to be the funniest CJW movie I have ever seen.

The 2 leads have great chemistry, and Jo Han So is such a good kisser and he is not a bad singer either! J I like the fact that JHS is really tall because CJW is quite tall. I cannot stand the movies/ series that she did with actors who are shorties or have the same height as she is like Lee Byung Hun, Bae Young Jun and yes she even has almost the same height as Kwon Sang Woo…haha.

Scenes to check out:

@ The intro scene with Min-su in bed with another woman, jeez I thought that was Choi Ji Woo!

@ The double date of Hyeon-Minsu and Sujin-Kyungmin. Kyung min cannot do the magic tricks that Min su does hilarious!

@ When Kyung-min became a movie set extra! He got hit a lot and he was just funny!

@ Hye-won and Min-su playing games together, sleeping together and him staring at her while she was sleeping

@ Their health issues, so ironic, talk about fate.

MY TO DO LIST:

1. Travel the World. I’ve always been fascinated with foreign places. I want to go to London & see Prince William. See The Northern/ Southern Lights in Australia. Be amazed by Egypt & the Pyramids of Giza. Watch the waves wash the shore in Hawaii.

2. Do an Asian tour with my close friends. We plan to hop to South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, and Indonesia. All we need is a date. Hint Hint Hint.

3. Get married in a church on top of a hill where I can only feel warmth, peace, love and happiness.

4. Learn a second language. Because learning a second language is like having a second soul.

5. Be in two places at the same time. It doesn’t just happen in the movies you know.
