Summary:

Kang Ji-suk (Jo In Sung) is an avid student of Korean & Korean Literature who regards his books as best friends and mostly stays either at home or in the library. One day he stumbles into his old classmate Lee Hee-jin (Shin min-ah) whom he has not seen for ages. The charming Hee-jin has turned into young woman of captivating beauty and also already managed to make her lifetime wish of becoming a hair stylist come true.

After crossing roads one more time, Hee-jin has a startling idea suggesting that the two of them should try and find out what the life of a couple is like for the period of one month. As a result Ji-suk and Hee-jin enjoy a wonderfully sweet time looking just like two real lovers?

What I Think:

I like one dialog in the movie where Hee-jin tells Ji-suk “You must love me so much because you waited for 40 minutes.” Ji-suk says, “You must really hate me to make me wait for 40 minutes.” Hee-jin says “No, I am usually an hour late on a first date, I am 20 minutes early.” J That was a nice line. I think Park Jung Ah is one cool rocker at the Blue Moon Resto! I like her group Jewelry!

Some good scenes are…I like the scene where Hee-jin and Ji-suk are playing in the rain all wet and muddy! Shin Min Ah looks like she was really enjoying stamping her foot all muddy on Jo In Sung! I liked the way she told Ji-suk she was pregnant through SMS “Ji-suk I’m pregnant” I liked the way Ji-suk used his jacket to cover them from the pouring rain! That was so romantic, I can just imagine Jo In Sung! Jeepers I just like him so much! Hee-jin looks so pretty here, he almost kissed her! Aish! I didn’t know that abortion is legal in South Korea because Hee-jin went to a hospital to get it done…almost.

Okay the acting; Shin Min Ah may not be as gorgeous as Jeon Ji Yeon or as adorable as Im Su Jeong, but acting-wise she is only fair and so was Jo In Sung. But their chemistry was undeniably there! There are parts in the movie that are boring, no background music, no one’s saying something, just dragging, I fast-forwarded those parts. The ending though was I cannot seem to describe it, It came so fast and it seems so-so and got no pizzazz. I was like uhhh huh what the? That’s it? The ending is a happy one at least. I cannot seem to connect what’s the significance of the Madeline pastries; I cannot fathom why it’s the title even. I just want to say… I ABSOLUTELY ADORE JO IN SUNG!!

What I Think:

I watched this with absolutely no idea about the Korean War; the fact that 2 of my favorite Korean actors, Jang Dong Gun and Won Bin are in it, was already something. They did not fail me; they both gave the performance of the careers here. I have to say Won Bin registers so good on-screen! He looks mighty fine in Taekgukgi!

I like the opening scenes where they were just having a good time with their family down the river and Jang Dong Gun looking forward to getting married to the woman he loves so much.

Taegukgi is a really really great movie, It made me laugh with so much happiness, made me cry with so much anguish. I thought Won Bin was going to marry his older brother’s fiancée when he died. That is my screwed up idea! Hahaha that’s too twisted! There was so much sadness and tears and blood in the war scenes but you can feel the great love the brothers have for each other.

I watched this movie only last Christmas, well what can I say war movies for Christmas, weird ol’ me. It is the only Korean movie that I got my entire family watching with me…if that’s an indication, this movie must be good. This movie should win at the Oscars!

Minwoo and Shin Ae Dating

Shinhwa's Lee Minwoo and popular actress Shin Ae were spotted enjoying a friendly birthday party together. Before this even there had been many rumors about the two being a couple, but neither had even confirmed nor denied the rumors. The two were seen enjoying Shin Ae's 24th birthday party in Seoul's Apgujeong from 10 pm on March 12th.

Minwoo held the party a day early as Shin Ae's birthday isn't until the 13th, and other Shinhwa members also participated in the day-early party.

According to people who saw them together, Minwoo and Shin Ae appeared to be long-time sweethearts and the two of them looked very comfortable enjoying drinks and joking with each other.

Having enjoyed a friendly relationship for over a year, Minwoo and Shin Ae have occasionally been spotted together by their fans and are a casual entertainment world couple.

The two appear to be wearing couple rings which makes it apparent that they must both be in relationships. On top of this, a photo has been widely posted on the internet of the two of them with their arms around each other, which started a lot of talk among their fans.

Shin Ae also visited Shinhwa at the ski resort in Kangwon province in January this year during their Winter Story events. At this time she was seen enoying a snowy date.

Minwoo is planning to release his 2nd solo album simultaneously in Korean and Japan in June, and is also preparing for solo concerts in Japan soon after.
