Kim Shi Yeon (Kim Tae Hee) is one of the warriors who has the best ability in the Gumiho clan. She's the chosen one. Works as the Natural History Museum curator by day, and warrior by night. She falls in loves with human which the clan considered as taboo. She's a possessor of a tragic destiny that causes her complications between her leaving the clan and her personal love affair.
Kang Min Woo (Joo Hyun Jae) is a special officer trained to exterminate the Gumiho clan, but he falls in love with Shi-yeon. As he loves Shi-yeon, he becomes friendlier towards the Gumiho clan, but when his companions were killed one by one by the Gumiho clan, even his younger sister, he becomes hostile against the clan. As a possessor of warm personality, he forms a tenacious bond with his surrounding companions using his abundant affinity and humaneness. He turned out to be Shi Yeon's childhood's friend, and their love rekindle again after being separated for many years.
Mu Young (JunJin) holds the most powerful skill among the Gumiho clan warriors and is considered the prominent successor as leader of the clan. He is a model leader not only in battle, but in excellent commandry of the members in his organization. He is intellectual and reserved in every matters, so his thoughts are not revealed to others. As he watches Shi-yeon, whom he loves, love Min-woo, a human, he gets a hellish feeling towards it.
Chae Yi (Han Ye Seul) is the Gumiho clan's female hunter. Among the warriors in the clan, she can use her unique ability to transform. As a possessor of a sexy appearance, she is admired by many human men, but in reality, she only looks at Mu-young, the leader of the warriors. However, before her feelings towards Mu-young stands another obstacle other than Shi-yeon. It's the truth that the man she loves the most is the son of the foe who exterminated her family.
Rang (Park Joon Seok) is the Gumiho clan's hunter. He is a new generation Gumiho clan warrior who loves motorcycles and music. He has the brightest personality among the Gumiho clan warriors. He feels heartbroken when he sees Chae-yi, who he was the friendliest with, only look at Mu-young's back.
Sa Joon (Uhm Tae-woong) is the right-hand man who helps Mu-young, the leader of the warriors. With a combination of his outstanding strategy and battle ability, he is an individual who Mu-young considers him like an older brother and solely opens his thoughts to him.

Vampire is to West as Gumiho is to East. Gumiho wae jeon or The Nine-tailed Fox - A Supplementary Tale is a modern drama taken from the old Asian myth about a nine-tailed fox race that took the form of a human. Their favorite delicacy - human livers.
Based on the legend of an old fox that loves men but is betrayed by them, the drama aims to recreate the old story in accordance with the modern age, transforming the incompatible destiny between a man and an old fox into a tragic love story. Moreover, the drama strengthens its persuasiveness, containing scientific perspectives, such as the ethnic problems of gene discrimination triggered from the decoding of the genome map, the socioeconomic problems of life-longevity and the side-effects of human reproduction.
The drama introduces a new type of love conflict by portraying the hostile but unbreakable doomed relationship between a man and an old fox. It is different from the typical antagonism between the good and the bad containing the general conception that an old fox is an enemy of a man. Throughout the story, the drama aims to create a new and striking hero, appealing to not only the young viewers, the main target, but also the older generation.
The drama will rewrite a new myth that overturns the general knowledge on the old fox, and expectedly will create a sensation from viewers with new materials and sensible images. Along with that, all characters within the drama will be presented as heroes and new icons of the Wanna-Be culture.
The drama deals with a love story between heterogeneities that are extremely different from the birth, far from the common romantic conflicts that stem from human relationships. The main characters' desperate struggle for love will unfold in the cold electronic and state-of-art technology, the first time ever to be presented to the TV drama fans in Korea.
** This series has all the of Korea’s most beautiful, most handsome faces in it. I love Kim Tae Hee! She is so beautiful; she is one of my fave k-actresses. Then there is Joo Hyun Jae, I have started loving him much again these days… I already liked him in Love Letter, I have always though he looks so chubby and stuff, but when I saw his bod in Forbidden Love and his leanness in Only You I fell for him all over again. Next there is Junjin! Who does not love him in shinhwa! He is tall and you should see him here when he is not wearing any top, I think he has got the best muscles in this series! JThen there is Uhm Tae Woong! I never thought Uhm Jung Hwa’s younger bro was this hot. Watching him in those dark suits and glasses— killer hot! J
** The way Uhm Tae Woong looks when he is wearing a suit! Lord does he look so darn good! I am starting to like this guy, he looks so debonair and so dangerous, so powerful whenever he wears a suit and those dark sun glasses! Jeesh!
** In episode 8 where Si-yon and Min-woo were walking side by side in the middle of a dirt road with lots of green trees around them, it was so scenic! You could see how tall Joo Hyun Jae is here, not to mention cute. J Weird cause in this beautiful scene, is where Si-yon breaks up with Min-woo.
** The acting; okay Kim Tae Hee and Joo Hyun Jae has some chemistry going, they were okay together, they cannot be all chummy because this is after all an action series. This is the first series that I have seen Junjin act, he did okay not too spectacular though, he needs to work on his emotions more, he lacks some emotions. The girl who plays one of Kim Tae Hee’s close gumiho girl friend, I cannot stand her chinky, piercing eyes! She kills me, she needs to stop that stare!
Scenes to watch out for:
** Enagement of Si-yon to Moo-young, the placing of the rings and Moo-young kissing her forehead! Junjin looks so gentle and sweet here! J
** Si-yon revealing to Minwoo that she is a gumiho. He was so shocked here!
** Moo-young realizing that Si-yon is the 1000-year-old fox when he saw the sign on her back.
** All the scenes where Moo-young is protecting Si-yon from the wrath of his mother.
** Rang nursing a crush on Kang Min-joo, Min-woo’s younger sister! They look cute together actually, he feels weird but he is indeed drawn to her.
** The ending scene. Must-see. I cannot begin how to describe it.
